Zip for Dental Payment Support at Absolute Dental

Zip may be available at Absolute Dental as a payment option for eligible patients who would like to spread approved dental treatment costs over time. It may suit patients who already have a Zip account, or who want to apply for Zip Pay, Zip Plus or Zip Money before paying for a suitable treatment plan.

Approval, account limits, repayment requirements, fees, charges and terms are set by Zip. Our team can explain your dental fees before treatment begins, but Zip manages account applications, credit assessment, spending limits, repayment schedules and approval decisions.

Spread Approved Dental Costs Over Time

At Absolute Dental, treatment costs are discussed before you decide whether to proceed. If Zip may be suitable for your appointment or treatment plan, our team can explain the basic payment process and direct you to Zip’s current application or account pathway.

Zip is a payment option, not a health fund. It does not reduce the need for a dental assessment, change treatment suitability, or confirm any private health fund benefit. If you have extras cover, your health fund claim and any Zip payment arrangement should be considered separately.

Using Zip for Your Appointment

1

Check the repayment fit

Before applying or choosing Zip, review the expected treatment cost, repayment frequency, account fees, possible interest, late fees and how repayments fit your regular expenses. Contact Zip directly for account, credit limit or finance-specific questions.

2

Book and mention Zip

Book an appointment with Absolute Dental and let our team know you may want to use Zip. If your visit involves planned treatment, ask whether an itemised estimate can be prepared after your dentist has assessed your needs.

3

Review treatment and costs

Your dentist will assess your oral health, discuss suitable options and explain the fees before you decide whether to proceed. Treatment recommendations are based on your clinical needs, goals, risks and alternatives.

4

Apply or use your Zip account

You may be able to apply through Zip online or in the Zip app. Zip may ask for personal details, identity information, income and expense details, a valid payment method and other account information before making an assessment.

5

Choose Zip and manage repayments

If Zip approves your account or transaction, review the offered repayment terms before accepting. Repayments may be weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on the Zip product and your chosen schedule, provided minimum repayments are met.

How Zip Fits Around Dental Treatment

Zip is a payment product that lets eligible customers use an approved account or credit limit with participating merchants or, in some cases, through a Zip Visa card. The product available to you may depend on your account, credit assessment, purchase amount and Zip’s current terms.

For dental treatment, Zip may allow an approved patient to pay for the quoted cost and repay Zip over time. It does not pay a dental benefit in the way a health fund does. If a health fund rebate also applies, our team can help you understand the dental fees and claiming process separately.

Before You Apply for Zip

Zip’s eligibility requirements may change, so patients should check the current criteria before applying. Zip states that applicants generally need to:

  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Be employed in some capacity, noting some pensions may be accepted
  • Have a valid Australian Driver Licence or Passport
  • Have a good credit history
  • Have a valid and verifiable email address and mobile number
  • For Zip Pay, have a verified PayPal or online banking account in their own name

Approval is not guaranteed. Zip may perform identity, credit, income and expense checks as part of its assessment, and available amounts, repayment periods, fees, charges and interest may vary by product and account.

Zip Repayments, Fees and Terms

Zip Pay is described by Zip as interest free, with repayments that can start from $10 per week and weekly, fortnightly or monthly repayment schedules available. Zip also states that minimum monthly repayments apply, and that a monthly account fee, late fees or other charges may apply depending on the product and how the account is used.

Zip Plus and Zip Money may have different credit limits, repayment requirements, fees and interest rules. Before using Zip for dental treatment, review the repayment schedule and make sure it fits your budget. Absolute Dental can discuss the dental fees for your proposed treatment, while Zip controls account approval, credit limits, finance terms, repayment schedules and applicable fees.
