What are the options for Teeth Whitening?

Video Transcript

There are two main options for professional teeth whitening. One is to have custom moulds taken of the teeth and a custom tray made and issued to aid in the application of a Professional grade whitening solution. This is performed at home for a period of 14 days, usually in the evening and then can be repeated using the same trays, every 18 months to 2 years.

A quicker result is achieved with Zoom Whitening which is the in chair whitening system. This consists of four 15 minute rounds of very intense whitening of the teeth, the end result is an instant really nice white smile. Generally the results last for up to 5 years. So it’s a really nice option for those who are time poor or not very disciplined to do the ‘at home’ option.

All whitening procedures are minimal intervention processes and thus there is minimal harm to the teeth. Typically there is tooth sensitivity after the procedure however at Absolute Dental we offer a protocol the all but eliminate this occurrence. The avoidance of coloured food and drink must be considered immediately after the whitening.
