Wisdom teeth can become a problem for patients when they’re either erupting or when the gum above the wisdom tooth has become a little bit inflamed. So if the tooth is erupting or coming out of the jaw bone on an odd angle, then it might indicate extraction.
Alternatively, if there’s enough space for the tooth to come through or erupt, but the gum has become inflamed and continuously becomes infected, this could also indicate extraction.
Sometimes patients can experience pain, which is essentially teething pain when wisdom teeth are erupting normally, and this would not necessarily indicate extraction.
